Lupy Said: Big burner! ( Jul. 29th 2010 )

This works just fine with American propane tanks, it uses the smaller thread that is on the inside of American tanks. It has left handed threads, so you must turn it the oposite way to thread it in. This looks just like the one that sells for around $32, also on amazon. Mine lites easily, puts out a lot of heat and on low power turns off the outer ring, which allows lower power without blowing out easily. I will probably rig a wind guard to concentrate the heat, with a little work an old round charcoal grill would probably work just fine as a stand. The only fault I can find is that there is no detent to prevent turning it off as you go to full power. For $25 shipped, it's a steal, it's heavy, so shipping would cost $15-20 easy.

Terryl G. Upton Said: GREAT for WOKS!! ( Apr. 3rd 2010 )

I purchased this propane burner to use with my larger woks as I needed more
heat. This baby did the trick and then some! WOW! Talk about BTU's. The size
and shape is perfect for wok cooking and the control knob allows for excellent
flame adjustment. I use it in my kitchen on the island.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

1KnightStan Said: This will fit a standard propane gas grill tank ( Nov. 16th 2009 )

I was very skeptical about ordering this based upon the review saying that it a different gas fitting on it, but the Big Bertha Propane burner also sold here on Amazon (which is exactly the same item, but the Big Bertha model is 3 times as expensive) did not have any reviews mentioning this problem. I ordered this one and did not have any problem attaching it directly to a standard propane gas grill tank. Standard propane gas grill tanks have internal female and external male threads and this one fits the internal female threads. The only thing to remember is that it is reverse thread so you will have to thread it in counterclockwise to attach it to the tank. I have not cooked with it yet, but it did ignite using the electric start and it seemed to produce a very usable flame. I am not too worried about the electric start since you can manually light it.

Soar On Wings Said: Be careful for this item if you are in US and speak English ( Jul. 19th 2009 )

Be careful for this item if you are in US and speak English. Don't waste your money. It can turn out to cost you about twice as much for the original shipping and return shipping and 20% restocking fee for nothing, not to mention the frustration and time and energy wasted. This item not only has a different male type of propane tank connector/orifice instead of the US standard ACME Nut type, both ends of the hoses are connected using only metal bands tied up with screws instead of the US standard threaded connectors. And the un-marked regultor is molded to the orifice with a very short neck. Therefore, even it didn't work most likely because of the unfit connector/orifice, you won't be able to find any replacement hose/regulator kit or adaptor anywhere in the US stores to fix the problem. And there is no documentations nor any seals nor marking on the box or the item for you to refer to find the proper replacement any way. And it only has a one-page instruction with poor English which I don't know what it is talking about (for example, it used the word "bottom" many times which I guess that they meant "button" but should be "switch" or "dial" instead.) Several US stores in my neighborhood selling similar items told me that it is not legal to sell similar product here not meeting safety regulations. Not only it never starts/works, its long arm almost makes it out of the balance if you don't put extra weight such as a pot on the stove. So in summary, this item should not be even sold to US customers. My recommendation: Don't buy it if you are in US and only speak English.
