Question #1:

Should I get an electric dryer with a moisture sensor?

I have read the pros about a dryer with a moisture sensor but I'm also wondering about the cons. Does it go out often or cost a lot to fix? I'm looking a lower priced model. An Amana, Whirlpool or Maytag model only in the $300 - $400 price range. My favorite right now (with no sensor) is -

Question #2:

What are the best ELECTRIC cooking ranges for the $500-800 price range? Brands and models from EXPERIENCE?

I just bought a foreclosed townhouse and need to purchase a new range since the one there currently is cracked inside and not usable. I do not want to spend more than $800 INCLUDING delivery. I only have the option of electric and it needs to be the standard 30" size. I have been looking at Maytag, Frigidaire, Whirlpool and GE. Has anybody had either a really good or really bad experience with any of these brands? I want something with an accurate oven temp, FAIRLY easy to clean/maintain and in stainless steel. Thanks!

Question #3:

The ON INDICATOR light on my Maytag electric range won't go off. Any suggestions?

I have already unplugged/plugged it and took the little handles off to make sure everything was in the right position. No luck... help, please :o)
But Papa... it's the ON indicator for the whole range. How do I know which one it is?
People... there is no heat. It's been on for days... and all the burners are working FINE. Including the oven. It's just the little light...
Already checked the manual... doesn't say anything about it.

Question #5:

What could cause a burner light to remain on when burner is off?

I have a 7 year old Maytag electric range (smooth top) that has had no problems until now. The small red light on left back, which comes on when either left side burner is turned on, is suddenly refusing to go off, even when no burners are on and no surface is warm. The right side burner light functions normally. I know that repair for this will be costly. I've tried flipping breaker for half an hour and turning back on, but light is still on. Is there any danger in letting this ride?

Question #6:

Maytag Gas 30" Free-standing Range: Spark doesn't work...?

Our Maytag Gas 30" Wide Free-standing Range (model MGR4451BDW) seems to have a spark problem.

The electric connection is fine, and so is the gas connection (when the range is on, you can sort of smell the gas).

The only problem is that you can't hear the spark noise when you turn the knob.

Any reasons as to why/what the problem is?
