Question #1:

Would you choose the Nissan Leaf or Chevy Volt?

The Associated Press has a very detailed article on these two cars:

The Nissan Leaf is a fully electric car with 100 mile per charge range. The base model will cost $25,280 when accounting for the federal tax break (some states have additional tax breaks), and Nissan offers a $349/month lease with $1,995 down. It comes with an eight-year,100,000-mile battery warranty. The car goes on sale in select markets in December.

The Chevy Volt is a plug-in hybrid which gets 40 miles on purely electric power, then switches into hybrid mode to extend the range much further if necessary. The Volt will sell for $33,500 when including the federal tax break, but they're offering a similar lease to the Leaf at $350/month with $2,500 down. The Volt also has an 8 year, 100,000 mile battery warranty and goes on sale in select markets in November. Both will be available nationwide about a year later.

Which of these cars would you choose to lease or buy?

Question #2:

Question #3:

What are renter's thinking?

I have been a property manager for almost 20 years and it astounds me when I see the condition that people leave their apartments when they move out. The stories I could tell that range from parking motorcycles in the living room to abandoning the apartment with meat and other food stuff in the fridge left to rot and ruin the fridge because the electric has been off for 2 weeks.
Good grief.
When I was younger there was no way I would ever leave a place without thoroughly cleaning and turning in my keys even if I couldn't pay the rent.
Just venting really but do people not realize that all that mess gets charged to the resident and goes on the credit report.? Oh well, I love my job and take care of the apartments no matter what and love those that feel the same way.

Question #7:

HELP! Electric bill randomly sky rocketed...?

Our electric bill for our one bedroom apartment has always been around the 70s-80s range...sometimes a bit more during the summer but it's never gone over 100. Last month we moved in to a new apartment and our bill was about 160. This month our bill is 180. We aren't doing anything different in this apartment, electricity wise, that we didn't do in the old apartment, except that we now have cable in the new apartment. Could using cable and having one extra bedroom really make the electric bill go up 100 dollars a month? Or should I call entergy and have them re-read the meter?

Question #10:

Help.. which guitar to buy?

I already have a yamaha acoustic.. but i wanna buy an electric.
My price range is about $500. I went to a guitar store and found an ibanez with ibanez pickups for $400. It sounded good, but my teacher told me to get one with EMG pickups. I love bands like metallica, lamb of god, slipknot and all, and i found out that to get that kinda sound you should get EMG pickups. The problem is that guitars with EMG pickups are outside my price range..
Can anyone either suggest to me a good brand of guitar with EMG pickups along with the model? Or could you let me know if Metallica and those other bands could be played with Ibanez pickup?
Thanks :)
I would also like to know which amplifier to buy? My teacher uses a Laney Hardcore, for about $130. I don't know which ones are good.. my limit is $150

Question #18:

Kilowatts -- how much does the electric company charge?

I know it varies depending on your region. I'm not looking for exact rates, just a range.
And I also know the rates go up during high usage.

The reason why is that I'm considering a whole house fan to augment my air conditioning. Running the a/c for 5-6 hours while I sleep seems pretty inefficient. So a whole house fan might be the answer. I'd just like to know how much they cost to run.

Thanks!
